Circular Silencers
Circular silencers are much more restricted in there ability to provide high attenuation.
In general the longer the silencer the higher the attenuation. Internal pods can also be added to increase the attenuation but these also increase losses.
Centrix automatically inserts the inside diameter of the silencer into the green box. You can manually override this diameter if you wish but a transition piece will then be required.
Click the 'Design' button to fill the grid with silencers.
Usually there will only be four or six silencers to select from corresponding to 2 or 3 different lengths with and without pods.
If the silencer does not meet the specified criteria shown in the box the left hand most cell will be highlighted red.
You may find it necessary to use a rectangular silencer with a transition between it and the fan inlet to obtain the required dBA level. Close the form with the 'X' button and change to a rectangular silencer if necessary.
If a suitable circular silencer can be found :
Double click a row or select a cell and click the 'Detail' button to show the Detail form.
The Save to Centrix button must be clicked in the Detail form to save the design and costing information to Centrix.
